What is Cognitio Vitreus(CV)?
A glasslike crystal that forms in areas that are unobserved over a long span of time. The crystal itself can impose alternate reality onto the current reality in many forms.
What forms does Cognitio Vitreus come in?
CV comes in two forms, Unrefined Cognitio Vitreus(U-CV) and Refined Cognitio Vitreus(R-CV) though the refined form is often just called CV
What is Unrefined Cognitio Vitreus and where does it come from?
U-CV is just as it sounds. It is CV in its most raw form. It is said to come from an existence outside the the reaches or capabilities of observation.
U-CV itself only has crystal and a projected intelligence and form. In it's base state, the form is vague and the intelligence is near the level of an amoeba. It, however is shaped by the unconscious of those within its proximity. From there any manor of alternate reality rules or manifestations are capable. There is work on classifying the U-CV's common appearances and behaviors but such research and categorization at the moment of writing this is slim.
U-CV's projections can range from anything from the mundane to living nightmare gods.
There is one singular advantage of U-CV over R-CV. And that is that if controlled, U-CV has no limitations on use. One could make a U-CV freeze water, and then also melt the water. As long as the U-CV's projection is able to be convinced.
How is U-CV refined?
By eliminating the projected consciousness attached to the U-CV it can be converted into R-CV or commonly referred to as simply CV.
How is R-CV used?
R-CV if given to a normal person has no effect unless ingested or consciously focused upon. In both cases, the subject will experience a alternate reality of their own making in their mind. Though initially structured by one's unconscious, the conscious mind can shape and reshape this space. With practice, a subject can overlay their alternate reality and the current reality. Through conscious decision, the R-CV can manifest said effect in the current reality and the R-CV is then considered to be used for as long as the effect is maintained. Lesser R-CV deposits can become unstable or brake after multiple uses or if used for too large a change with too little physical R-CV available.
How does Cognitio Vitreus deal with contradictions?
the effect of CV in conflict is determined by the consciousness that has the strongest degree of self assurance. This could be one user over another, a user over a projection, a projection over a user, or even reality itself potentially being the strongest assurance. Local and Universal Unconscious also alter the allocation of which effect is primary.
Are there limitations in Cognitio Vitreus creating effect?
CV can not create something that can not be envisioned. In addition, creating is far easier than altering and altering is far easier than erasing. But with enough people convinced, including the user, and a large enough amount of CV there is little that can not be done.
